Welcome to the King O’Sullivan School of Irish Dance.
The King O’Sullivan School of Irish Dance was founded by Jacinta O’Sullivan T.C.R.G, A.D.C.R.G nearly 30 years ago and has multiple locations in and around Atlanta. Jacinta (Jessie) started Irish dancing at the age of 3 1/2 and went on to become a national and world step dancer. She eventually taught alongside her mentor and teacher in Ireland and upon moving to the states began teaching her children and their friends; thus the King O’Sullivan School of Irish Dance was born.
Jacinta is an accredited teacher of Irish dancing with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha in Ireland and is an active member of the IDTANA (Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America ). Jacinta was the first certified adjudicator of Irish Dancing from Georgia, and has had the honor of judging at the World Irish Dancing Championships as well as feiseanna throughout North America.
While dancers from the King O’Sullivan School of Irish Dance have competed successfully at the US Southern Region Oireachtas, US Nationals and World Championship competitions, we are dedicated to every dancer at every level. Whether you want to compete, perform or simply learn Irish dance, we go to great lengths to find each student’s unique talents and help them achieve their personal goals.
Through this passion for dance, the children not only make life long friendships but also learn the value of working well with a team, hard work, perseverance and self-efficacy all while celebrating Irish culture and heritage.
The King O'Sullivan School of Irish Dance offers classes to students of all ages, children through adults. Instruction will cover all the basic techniques of Irish Step dance, including reels, jigs, hornpipes as well as the more complex rhythms of Championship dance.
Whether the students desire is for competition or performance, Jacinta believes that best results will be accomplished when the student and teacher share a common goal: to learn as much as possible from each other, and to have fun while doing so.
